Think of it as Brazil’s answer to a crumble cake — a soft, fluffy base, a creamy custard or fruit layer, and a crunchy topping. It’s a cousin of the German streusel, but with its own Brazilian soul.
Like every Cozy Cake creation, it’s baked fresh from scratch with no preservatives, just simple ingredients that bring comfort and flavour. If you enjoy a good apple crumble or custard tart, you’ll love the Catarina Cake — homely, familiar, yet just a bit exotic.

Ingredients: egg, sugar, plain flour, cornflour, margarine, baking powder, milk, condensed milk, thickened cream.
I dont normally like cakes with cream or custard but wow! This cake is not too sweet and the texture of the crumb on top makes all the difference. This one goes to the top for me next to the polenta and polenta with coconut.
