Meet the Baker

Hello Cozy Customer,

Helena here, founder and baker at Cozy Cake. Let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit about how I came up with these very cozy cakes…

I am from Brazil, have been in Australia since July 2017 with my husband and daughters, and we fell in love with this place.

Australia is great, and South Australia is even better. The beaches, the hills, the vibrant city of Adelaide, so clean and well organized. Everyone I meet is so nice, always so welcoming and supportive. And above all, humble. That's how I explain Australia to my friends and family back in Brazil: a wealthy and advanced country, and yet so humble. Pretty hard to find all of that in one single place, but South Australia nailed it!

Now, let's be honest, nothing is perfect. I do struggle with the long, cold and wet winters. But for me, there is a simple way to feel warm and happy. Getting together with friends, family, colleagues from work, meeting new people, chatting and laughing with them all. Being around other people is what keeps me warm and happy anytime, anywhere. To me, that's what life is all about....and that's why Cozy Cake came to life.

The kind of cake my grandma used to always bake and have at home when we came to visit her. The simple and tasty snack I would have at work in the middle of the morning or afternoon. A very nice treat I would bring to my friends' house on the weekends when we got together for a relaxing chat.

So, why not have it in Australia? And here I am, ready to bring a part of my history, culture and memories to share with my new friends, who are not only Australians but from all over the world.

Cozy Cake is all about getting people together and making the most of these moments. Homemade with local ingredients, simple and tasty, always fresh. And by the way, a perfect combination with a good cup of coffee or tea, any time of the day.
